Purpose: During endovascular procedures, live imaging may not be equally visible to all members of the team. For assistants, trainees or operators at alternate access sites, visibility may be limited by room layout, C-arm position, equipment, monitor orientation or operator height. We used Apple Vision Pro as an augmented-reality headset to display live angiography as a movable spatial display without changing the standard monitor setup.
Methodology: Multiple secondary imaging outputs from the hybrid theatre were routed through signal-normalisation and wireless video hardware to display live angiography on Apple Vision Pro. The headset was used as an additional display while standard theatre monitors remained primary. We describe the setup, practical use, advantages and limitations identified during bench and theatre testing. Basic feasibility data including case type, duration, technical issues and device battery use were collected. A video demonstration will be presented.
Results: Live angiographic imaging was displayed wirelessly in the headset without a cable to the operator. The image could be moved and resized within the user’s visual field while the standard theatre display remained unchanged. Technical issues were minimal, with signal compatibility and wireless network setup the main practical barriers during implementation. Battery life was identified as an important limitation for longer procedures.
Conclusion: We describe a functional method for displaying live angiography on Apple Vision Pro using off-the-shelf hardware, as an adjunct to standard hybrid-theatre monitors. This approach will improve with dedicated software, full hybrid-lab input integration and partnership with imaging vendors. Further evaluation is required to determine reliability, practical value and integration into endovascular workflow.
